Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, and a very good morning.
On behalf of PETRONAS, it gives me great pleasure to extend a warm welcome to everyone to the launch of Yayasan PETRONAS.
I would like to thank Yang Amat Berhomat Dato’ Seri Dr Wan Azizah Dr Wan Ismail for being here with us today and to all of you for taking the time to join us in this milestone event.

Ladies & gentlemen,
Energy is an essential commodity for growth. It is a significant resource to fuel progress and contribute towards a better quality of life.
Founded as the national oil company of Malaysia, PETRONAS is entrusted with the responsibility to develop and maximise the value of the nation’s hydrocarbon resources.
With this ‘Amanah’, we have grown into an integrated energy company with presence in more than 50 countries globally. This was made possible with the unwavering commitment of the organisation our people to maximise the energy resources for the betterment of generations to come.
Hence, embedded in our DNA is the commitment to empower communities and harness the good in energy to support the growth and prosperity of our nation and societies in geographies we operate in.
For PETRONAS, we approach corporate social responsibility in the areas of Education, Community Well-being and Development and the Environment. Over the years, we have carried out many CSR programmes and initiatives in these areas.

As we approach the 45th anniversary of PETRONAS, it is with pride we witness the establishment of Yayasan PETRONAS, the philanthropic foundation that will, from today onwards, carry out our CSR initiatives across the nation in upholding our ‘amanah’ to all Malaysians.
The Foundation will continue our community efforts and initiatives with the aim to contribute to a sustainable ecosystem that meets the current and future needs of societies. We are confident that Yayasan PETRONAS will deliver on this long-term commitment.
We also firmly believe that everyone has a role to play in shaping the future. Our achievement in creating a positive social impact has been effective through collaboration with various partner organisations, the government, corporate partners and NGOs to reach the underprivileged and make a lasting difference. Therefore, we must continue to form strategic partnerships and work towards effective solutions that will uplift societies in achieving a sustainable and better quality of life.
Ladies and gentlemen,
It is my hope that Yayasan PETRONAS will deliver meaningful impact to the people and societies, enabling them to reach their full potential so they in turn, could touch the lives of those around them for the benefit of present and future generations.
