Yayasan PETRONAS Spreads Joy this Hari Raya Aidilfitri through its Uplifting Lives Festive Initiative  

KUANTAN, 27 MARCH 2024 – As Hari Raya Aidilfitri approaches, Yayasan PETRONAS has resumed its Uplifting Lives Festive (ULF) initiative, aimed at creating a meaningful Raya celebration and spreading festive joy for the underprivileged communities. This programme anticipates reaching over 4,950 beneficiaries across Malaysia this year, with the national launch event held in Kuantan, Pahang. 

Beginning on March 19, Yayasan PETRONAS, in collaboration with the Welfare Department and PETRONAS’ regional offices, distributed essential food items to families in need nationwide. The essential food items include glutinous rice, rendang paste, coconut milk, and Raya cookies. The Raya cookie hampers have been specially prepared by entrepreneurs participating in the MEKAR (Memampankan Ekonomi Asas Rakyat) Program under Yayasan PETRONAS.   

Shariah Nelly Francis, CEO of Yayasan PETRONAS shared, “Hari Raya Aidilfitri, represents a time of joy, gratitude, and togetherness. Through our Uplifting Lives Festive Programme, we seek to share the joy of the occasion with the community, reaffirming our commitment to uplifting communities across the nation. This event holds great significance for us as it strengthens our connections and spreads joy to everyone during this festive season.” 

The Uplifting Lives programme is an integral part of Yayasan PETRONAS’ community well-being and development strategy. This initiative is in harmony with the PETRONAS Sustainability Agenda and aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
